[Lilug] Stripping down an Ubuntu Image?

It's been proposed over on the Andromeda mailing list that we provide an 
Ubuntu image with Andromeda all installed and ready to go. 

I'm figuring a Sun VirtualBox image would be best for that.

Question is, an installed Ubuntu seems to take > 3G.  I'm sure that can 
be compressed, but does anybody know what can be safely purged to shrink 
that down?  Or can anybody point me in the right direction?
