[Lilug] Microsoft Spectre patch may brick AMD PCs

…. This hit (automatically) one of our Windows 7 PC’s.. The one we keep around just for media center (for DVR w/ xbox 360 extender).   Frustrating, but fortunately, at least for now, ‘system restore’ worked, whether or not it will happen again.



I believe the processor (without being able to get in that room at 6am) was an athlon x2 4450e (judging from my google searches yesterday).



I was worried the hard drive was going, the machine dates back to 2009 and it is the original hard drive.
