[Lilug] Tomorrow?

Web page says there’s a meeting tomorrow, and the topic is template.

Tomorrow I’m taking a 3-hour course on CentOS 1-4pm on Safari (live course).  I just learned now (days after signing up) what CentOS was : Fedora -> Red Hat -> CentOS.  That is, RedHat is built on Fedora, and CentOS is built on RedHat.

I know, to some of you that’s everyday knowledge, but I had no idea.  I don’t know whether this is “better because it’s built on a commercial system” or “worse because it might get updates last” or perhaps “better because it might get updates last”.

I just installed it in a virtual machine, got it up and running – can log in and access network, but am leaving it pretty vanilla to start before the course.  I liked the installation procedure, pretty straightforward.
