With all due respect to everyone here, please stop the "+1" stuff.  It feels like spam after a while.

With that being said, my interest has been piqued and i will research d.o. as an option for future needs.

There are some negatives about dreamhost, for example, lots of small upselling for services which should be included.

+1 for Digital Ocean.  They are awesome.  You can also check out WPengine.  They are good for professional WP hosting.  They have DDoS protection and WAF services as well.

Seconded for Digital Ocean.



Additionally if you don't want to do everything manually, you can use ServerPilot (http://serverpilot.io) to provision.



Sets it up with nginx in front of apache for fast performance, makes SSL setup easy, lets you run multiple instances on the same virtual server (called a Droplet by Digital Ocean), manages security updates, configures firewall and a whole lot  more. Can be a very inexpensive way to host multiple sites, without much administrative overhead.
