Just forwarding Jason's message to the planning list. Further
discussion should happen there. FWIW, I'd be interested in hearing
this talk. Definitely not directly related to Linux, but it is
powered by free software, and it's definitely better than not having a
topic at all.

Mark.

Hi all,
Many of you have been aware of my interest in a open source project
called bitcoin for a few years now. It's a system of digital currency
based on proof-of-work, public keys and crypto. Recently it's adoption
has grown to the point where there are several exchange markets and
trading/services available. For instance one can now donate to the EFF
via bitcoin.
Recently one of the core developers has been asked to speak at the CIA
(in-q-tel their blue sky division) about bitcoin. While we talking
about this on IRC I asked this developer if he'd ever consider coming
to lilug to speak with us about bitcoin. To my suprise he said yes, so
I figured I'd turn the discussion over to the Gov list and see if
there was any interest. The developers name is Gavin Andresen, he's
located in Amherst, MA.
Please let me know what you think.
-Jason
